1981 年，ACTUS 成立 Contract 事業部，邀請 Hans J. Wegner 為靜岡 MOA 美術館進行空間規劃。Wegner 一生設計超過 500 件作品，其中與 ACTUS 的合作，是他首次為特定文化場域量身打造家具。此次合作誕生了歷史之作 「Japan Chair」。

透過這場世紀交會，ACTUS 與 Hans J. Wegner 共同詮釋了「Japandi」的美學精髓。

In 1981, ACTUS and Hans J. Wegner illuminated the essence of ”Japandi“ at the MOA Museum of Art. This collaboration shifted the focus of design furniture from form to relationship.

The resulting master piece of Japan Chair embodies the mastery of Danish craftsmanship while honoring the quiet aesthetic order of Japan. It does not compete for attention; instead, it blurs the boundary between the artwork and the observer, serving as a delicate pivot for the act of viewing.
